Wildlife Habitat Funding Available

Wildlife Habitat Funding Available – $100 Million – Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council – Accepting Proposals Now!

Approximately 100 million dollars from the Outdoor Heritage Fund will be available for projects that “protect, restore, and enhance habitat for fish, game, and wildlife.”  Numerous projects have received funding over the past 13 years and have included:  wetland, prairie, and forest restoration, fee-title and conservation easement acquisition of important habitat, invasive species removal, stream and lake restoration /enhancement, among many others.  Many counties and cities have applied for and received Outdoor Heritage Funding and we again want to make sure you’re aware of this funding opportunity for your potential projects.

The application period is open from April 1, 2021 through May 27, 2021.  The Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council will review applications throughout the summer and fall and will recommend projects for funding during the 2022 legislative session.  To learn more about this opportunity and to apply for funding, please visit
